I no longer have telephone support from mac (which costs $30 per call I think if you dont have it) would some one recommend if buying a new hard drive and replacing it is the best bet to fix the problem? Or should I take it on to get fixed? Sorry for the massive text, and thanks for any help. SO, I have had the computer for almost 4 years now and take good care of it other than its transported 4/7 days of the week to school. I read online that means I need to replace the hard drive. ![]() Read up on whats going on, and I read that you need to do these steps: reboot using cmd+r > pick "disk utility" > press "partition" tab on the disk that you want restored > and then press "restore." Everything went fine, but when I click on partition, you can't actually click any commands because they are all in gray. ![]() Everything seemed great- things ran faster mainly.Ībout two weeks later I shut off my compter and the next time I tried to turn it on, I got a white page with a file folder flashing on and off with a question mark in the middle. ![]() So I recently reset my computer to factory settings to the best of my ability, back upped all my files, and only put back what I needed on my mac.
